Holy Names University (HNU) is located in the beautiful Oakland Hills. The University was founded in 1868 with a mission of social justice and serving students in urban settings. These core principles guide all of the Graduate Department of Education programs. The Educational Therapy instructors come from a wide variety of disciplines: psychology; neuropsychology; speech and language pathology; and educational therapy. This underscores our philosophy of cross-disciplinary respect and collaboration. The program, established in 1995, has many unique features and is geared for working adults. It was designed to enhance the skills of experienced educators and has provisions to support career changers. The clinical practicum is onsite at the Raskob Learning Institute (founded in 1953). Program-completers meets all of the AET requirements for entering as an Associate Member. One can earn an ET Certificate, an ET Certificate and a Master’s Degree with special emphasis in Educational Therapy, or the ET Certificate and the CA Special Education Credential.
